Fine Silver Collection -

What is Fine Silver?

Also known as pure silver, it is the purest form of silver you can get and will have 99.9% silver. With Silver you cannot get 100% as there are always trace amounts of impurities that are virtually impossible to guarantee are removed. Fine silver is used to make bullion bars for international trading and silver investment. It is also used for some silver coins, particularly of the proof quality currency coins and silver rounds (proof coinage was historically made for checking the dies and for archival purposes, but nowadays often struck in greater numbers specially for coin collectors).  Pure silver has very little copper in the alloy and is therefore not very reactive, meanting it tarnishes much more slowly than Sterling Silver.  In general, the higher the silver content the slower the tarnishing.  As with any other type of silver, proper storage will help slow down the tarnishing process.

I use Art Clay Silver to make my designs which is made of fine silver powder mixed with non-toxic binders and water.  When fired the binder burns away and the fine silver particles solidify completely leaving you with a one-of-a-kind 99.9% pure silver piece.
